Nearly twenty-five thousand homes in southeastern Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms passed over the region, producing wind gusts reaching over 100 km/h.

Large Ice Stones and Extensive Damage

Residents observed substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7cm in certain regions. Meteorological experts verified that multiple regions across Queensland had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were working to restore power throughout the affected regions, with dozens of response units activated to address the widespread outages.

Victoria's Weather Woes

Meteorological Predictions

Damp conditions were predicted to continue along significant areas of the state's eastern regions this week as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coast.

Tomorrow was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing severe weather risk expected across various areas of both areas.

Health Warning

Health officials cautioned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
